A WikiQuestion

Mr. E, how do you get your Wiki to load so responsively? I am trying to set one up for personal use, and it is as slow as molasses. Did you change any settings? --Triped 15:04, 6 Jul 2005 (EDT)

I consulted with dark gods and swore my soul for more processor cycles on the server. Actually, I dunno. Does the server you're setting the wiki up on have PHP 4.x and MySQL 4.x? These are things I have. Beyond that, I dunoo. --Mr. Encyclopedia 18:18, 6 Jul 2005 (EDT)
I have those (except for access to dark gods). It might be that I downloaded a problematic build. I'll upgrade, since I don't have any content, and see how it goes. 70.105.77.149 23:43, 6 Jul 2005 (EDT)
I belive that the master of 8-bit theater (who apparently lives suprisingly close to me) once mentioned dark gods in the same statement as internet troubles. He stated that the problems were gone, and the only side effect he noticed was that they now needed to measure broadband in human blood instead of using the standard gigawhatever means of Measurement.
I consider that a glowing endorsement of Dark God tech support. Just be sure you have plenty of human blood on hand.--Beat 11:43, 7 Jul 2005 (EDT)

Rights? What Rights?

So I look at the recent changes page, and see that I have had my rights altered. As far as I can tell, I am still able to speak freely, Bear arms, practice my religion, and experience life, liberty and the persuit of happiness. My rights have not magically become lefts or wrongs either.

So I'm wondering, what just happened? --Beat the something

Rights... explained.

Due to my overwhelming experience in the world of tech support and translating odd things into English, I have determined this: Beat and The Professor have been granted sysop privileges on this site.

I on the other hand was brutally slapped in the face.

I couldn't tell you what having sysop rights means, or what you can do with them, but only that you have been granted them.

-- Eopoint Peon

Peon is right. You've been given Sysop privileges, which entitle you to the deleting of articles, or the moving of articles, or the protecting of articles. It's just... something that people do. Somebody has to do it. --Mr. E 18:26, 2 Aug 2005 (EDT)

I can't think of a better way to make contact at the moment.

Hey E. It's Beat from New Zeland. I had this post for the frontpage all plotted out (it's along the lines of never ever ever ride a bus, Son of a true story) but I can't for the life of me remember my password.

Normally I'd just Aim you for this sort of nonsense, but I'm not even sure this wreched, dialup beast I'm using even counts as a "computer".

If you could just fire off an e-mail to chris85miller@yahoo.com with my precious, precious password, I'd be totally appreciative and stuff.

Beat, all international-style.
